Email Scams

With the advent of electronic mail, scam artists have discovered new ways to try and cheat people out of their money or other assets. The Department of Insurance, Securities and Banking has received several samples of electronic mail scams. Individuals should not respond to such emails but instead, should delete them. Below are links to samples of messages that individuals should avoid.

For additional information, The Federal Trade Commission has extensive listings of email scams that may be of interest or assistance. They also have a general consumer protection website with a catalog of other scams and fraudulent activity.
